DAN 427 Teaching Movement in the Schools
Teaching creative movement in K-12 classrooms, integrating in the curriculum.
DAN 491 Teaching Projects
"The Flagship Dance Project" is an after school program where students
get credit
for teaching dance (salsa, jazz, hip hop, creative movement) to students in
at-risk
schools from 3:30-4:30pm.
DAN 491 Teaching Projects
"Math Movers" pilot project; this after school teaching project
at a small rural school
on an Indian reservation uses dance to teach math skills. The students can
get
credit for their work designing math/dance curricula and teaching at Arlee
School.
DAN 195 or 496 Special Project
ArtsBridge was a special course in spring 2005 where dance and drama majors
were
hand-selected to teach in the schools over a semester. The students integrated
in
the curriculum and presented their service learning portfolios at the end.
